King’s Preparatory School
Key Stage 2 Test Results - May 2008
For the last four years, King's Preparatory School has topped the Medway School's Key Stage 2 performance tables and, while local and national results for this year are, as yet, unavailable, once again the School looks set to repeat its success, having achieved an aggregate of 282 points. On the basis of these figures, King’s would again be in the upper-quartile of schools throughout England. Consistently we have out-performed local Junior and Primary schools and this year a high proportion of our pupils achieved Level 5. Given the breadth of our intake and the wide-focus of our curriculum, the school’s success is remarkable.
- 88% of all King's pupils in this age-group achieved level 4 or above (level 4 being the standard expected to be within the compass of a typical pupil aged 11 years) in English, Mathematics and Science. This represents a 10% improvement on the results recorded nationally in 2007.
- In Science, all but one pupil achieved level 4 or better. This result betters the national figures for 2007 by 13% . In English and Mathematics the number of children achieving level 4 was 19% and 10% higher than the national results in 2007
- In English and Science the number of pupils who achieved level 5 exceeded the national figures by 16% and 17% respectively
- King's pupils recorded an average points score per individual child of 29.37, compared to the 2007 average for the Local Authority of 27.4 and the national average of 27.9.
- King's pupils achieved an average level of 4.39, whereas the national average achieved in the 2007 Key Stage Two tests was 4.07.
