King’s Preparatory School
Key Stage 2 Test Results - May 2007
For the last three years, King's Preparatory School has topped the Medway School's Key Stage 2 performance tables and, while local and national results for this year are, as yet, unavailable, once again the School looks set to repeat its success, having achieved an aggregate of 284 points, a total of only four points below last year's winning score. On the basis of these figures, King’s would again be in the upper-quartile of schools throughout England. Consistently we have out-performed local Junior and Primary schools and this year an impressive proportion of our pupils achieved Level 5. Given the breadth of our intake and the wide-focus of our curriculum, the school’s success is outstanding.
- 88% of all King's pupils in this age-group achieved level 4 or above (level 4 being the standard expected to be within the compass of a typical pupil aged 11 years) in English, Mathematics and Science. This represents a 12% improvement on the results recorded nationally in 2006.
- In English and Science, all but one pupil achieved level 4 or better. These results better the national figures for 2006 by 19% and 11% respectively. In Mathematics the number of children achieving level 4 was 12% higher than the national results in 2006.
- A record 79% of all pupils achieved level 5 in Science and nearly 70% achieved this level in Mathematics. More than half achieved this leve in English. These returns exceed the national figures by 33%, 36% and 21% respectively.
- 18 pupils (42% of those entered) achieved a level 5 or better in every discipline, a level appropriate for a 13-year-old.
- King's pupils achieved an averagepoints score per individual child of 30.68, compared to the 2006 averagefor the Local Authority of 27.2 and the national average of 27.8.
- King's pupils achieved an average level of 4.60, whereas the national average achieved in the 2006 Key Stage 2 tests was 4.02. This figure is King's third best-ever result.
