A quote from an email sent to the Head Master from a parent of a pupil in the Fifth Form:

GCSE Results 2009

One needs to bear in mind that, essentially, we are a non-selective school:

 

• Our flat pass rate was up on last year's at 91%.
• The combined percentage of A*s and As was 46.4%
• The percentage achieving A*s, As and Bs was 74.3%.
• Sixty pupils achieved an average of 8.45 passes (A*-C) per pupil.
• Two GCSE pupils achieved one of the top 5 marks in English Literature (there were over 36,900 candidates nationwide).
